Trail Overview

This is a fairly wide route with enough space for two vehicles to pass comfortably in most sections. However, drivers should remain alert, as active logging operations may take place along this route. It’s possible to encounter logging trucks, heavy equipment, or debris related to timber activity. Slow down in blind corners, yield when necessary, and be prepared for large vehicles using the road.

This road is being actively logged as of 17 March 2026. It used to be narrow, one vehicle width, high grass, etc. Now it is open and the ground compacted. Once you pass the logging vehicles the road narrows and becomes unimproved. There is a 4-way intersection halfway through that we have not explored. 1708A continues straight through that intersection. The road continues past the map. We could only make it about 275 yards past the end of the mapped road in our car with 5" clearance before we needed to back up. We will explore it more with a taller vehicle.
