Allen Branch FS 4004

Allen Branch FS 4004 is an easy, scenic 2.35-mile dirt and gravel road in the Mark Twain National Forest. Perfect for beginners, hunters, and hikers, the straightforward route rises gently from 1,156 to 1,275 feet through dense forest. It is easily passable by high-clearance vehicles, and standard sedans can navigate it in dry conditions. Near its northern end, the trail provides access near a power-line corridor. Past the power lines, the road narrows to a single-vehicle track for about 125 yards before connecting to Jinkerson Road (CR 605) and Highway 8. The route is open year-round, though soft spots can develop during wet weather.
