West Higgins Route Section 1

This track is the area's main trail system, and this portion runs from the South trailhead parking lot on West Pine Drive and connects to the Kalkaska Route system. The terrain for this entire trail is soft sand, and the trail width is maintained at 1.5-3 vehicles wide. You will find this is a busy trail that is used by all types of vehicles, so look for traffic and drive the speed limit. During the winter, this trail is used by snowmobiles and may be groomed.
