Trail Overview
This short trail is the northernmost route that is a part of the NWT trail system. This trail is one of the trails that make up the northern loop. The trail begins at its intersection with Norway Truck Trail Road and navigates to its endpoint at its intersection with Norway Truck Trail 4 North Loop. This trail, if traveled from east to west, will begin as a wooded, mildly steep, rocky uphill section before quickly opening up thanks to the power lines that cut through the landscape. The trail navigates on a tight two-track, with large elevation changes all around. The remainder of the trail will also navigate in and out of the surrounding forests. The trail surface for the rest of the trail is mostly sand with some short sections of rocks mixed throughout. After a recent rainfall, this trail can have several mud holes, as well as some washouts.
Difficulty
This trail can be completed by riders of all experience levels. However, novice riders will be mildly challenged as some parts of the trail navigate off-camber terrain. The majority of this trail is loose sand; however, there are some portions that are small to medium loose rocks. The sections of this trail that navigate through the woods are very tight and should be ridden slowly, as there are countless blind corners. After recent rainfall, there are a few low sections of this trail that will develop mud holes, as well as slick mud in the wooded portions of the trail.
