Trail Overview

This route can be run from east to west or vice versa. It can be accessed from NFS 5368 (NE or NW section) or NFS 9687 (SW section which is also seasonal). The trail has a few places where water and mud can accumulate depending on recent weather, but they usually aren't significant. The trail is mainly dirt with some sand and gravel as well. It's usually not very tight throughout the season but can get a bit narrow with overgrowth in the early spring. This trail is a gorgeous, easy-going trail that allows you to get out in nature and enjoy the National Forest. Also note, the MCCCT Trail (motorcycle trail) does run alongside this route. Whether you're using this trail for off-road use or to access hunting, hiking, mountain biking, or dispersed camping, you really can't go wrong with NFS 9697.
