Trail Overview
NFS 7837/5015 is a scenic bidirectional off-road trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Starting from the East you'll begin with some towering red pine trees and finish at the intersection of 11-1/2 Mile Road. Most of the trail consists of dirt, gravel, and sand. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. This trail doesn't see a lot of traffic, and therefore has a decent amount of overgrowth. This also means that after recent bad weather, downed trees are a high possibility. Come prepared. The trail traverses over a lot of exposed tree roots. Be ready for a bumpy ride! There are also a few spots that can become washed out. Keep an eye out for these if there's been a lot of recent rain. Even though this trail isn't trafficked regularly, be sure to take in the beauty of the tunneling trees. It's a sight to see. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail with other cool trails nearby!
