Trail Overview
NFS 6816 is a cruising logging road trail located near Pine Haven Campground. This bidirectional trail is very easy with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of gravel, sand, and dirt, and winds through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest with towering Pine Trees. Despite the Dead End sign at the west end of the trail, it does not. The trail meets up with NFS 6085, 6640, & 5199. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is wide enough for 2 vehicles. Logging operations take place on the east end of the trail frequently, so please use caution. All in all, this is a great trail to get outdoors and witness some beautiful tall pine trees.
