Trail Overview
NFS 6419 is a really fun and exciting 2.2-mile bidirectional trail. Located either off US 119 or Centerline Rd, depending on whether you start on the south end or the north end, this trail is easily accessible. We started on the south end of US 119. This end started on a dirt road in a very, very thick part of the forest. There were tons of lush vegetation edging the trail. When we were here, there were a ton of trees close to the trail that had blue marks on them. We're not sure if they are planning to cut these down soon or what, but it was a very mesmerizing sight. It honestly made us feel like you were in outer space or something. The trail then transitioned into a sandy and dirt surface in a more dense part of the forest. As you continue down the trail, you'll twist and turn multiple times. This is a highlight of the route, especially compared to other nearby trails. Be sure to take it all in, and TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Also, keep your eyes open for wildlife! There are also tons of hiking trails off this route. This trail will surely keep you entertained. Like most of Michigan's off-road trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. When we were here, there were quite a few wet spots and a few mud holes. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of fun and beauty. This trail also gives access to other great trails nearby. Regardless of the conditions of this trail, it's an exciting route to check out! As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
