Trail Overview
Welcome to Northern Michigan’s OFF-ROAD Recreational Vehicle Destination. Less Traveled is a fun trail that will take you through the inner part of the Lower section. The route that was tracked is rated a 6, but if you choose to run during spring or heavy rain, it could be challenging and bump up the rating, so please be careful. This track is part of the lower section with ledges and rock obstacles, and deep water along the way. Make sure you use the offline mapping with OnX since cellular services are limited.
Difficulty
This trail is rated a 6 because you could encounter mud/deep water after a heavy rain and spring snowmelt. Also, Rock ledges and rock obstacles along the track can be challenging. This is part of the Lower section and is much more difficult than the Upper Section.
History
The Turtle Ridge ORV park and wildlife preserve is located within the 190 acres of the Turtle Ridge boundaries. The park follows a high ridge on the eastern end of the Potagannissing Bay and is carved out of the island's natural limestone. Our ORV park does not require a state ORV permit. It is privately owned by the resort and not subject to state trail closures. You’ll find the trails at Turtle Ridge to be some of the most scenic and rugged in Michigan. Many trails are set deep into the woods, while others lend themselves to extended rides, making it perfect for anyone willing to take on the challenge! Park Hours & Seasons: Dawn until dusk open year-round; however, trails are not plowed or groomed in the winter! For additional information, contact: 906-493-1000.
