Trail Overview

Hemlock Lake Trail is an unmaintained seasonal road in the Pigeon River Country State Forest. This trail takes you to one of the seven sinkhole lakes in the area: Hemlock Lake. There is a small pull-off to park and get a closer view of the lake. It is a very peaceful area known to have wildlife such as elk and bald eagles. This trail is mildly hilly in areas and can get a bit muddy after rain. It is only open to street-legal vehicles, as are most of the roads and trails in the Pigeon River Country State Forest.

Difficulty

This single-vehicle-wide trail has mild hills and can get muddy after heavy rain. It is also unmaintained in the winter, so snow will not be plowed.
