Trail Overview

This is trail LL/ 3 located in Gogebic County, Michigan. This trail runs from its starting point at the Michigan/ Wisconsin border, and continues north to the town of Watersmeet, where it ends at the intersection of the Iron River-Marenisco Trail and Trail LL Bass Lake Road. This trail is a wide and smooth railroad grade. It has excellent sight lines throughout its length, allowing for easy cruising as the trail navigates the Western UP landscape. There are several bridge crossings along this trail that provide views of scenic creeks that run below. Additionally, with the ample mature forests that surround the trail, wildlife sightings can happen frequently.

Difficulty

This trail can be navigated by riders of all experience levels. Sight lines throughout the trail are okay to good. The trail is well-maintained with few obstacles throughout its length. However, depending on the frequency of grooming, areas around intersections and stops can exhibit excessive washboarding. The trail is plenty wide enough to easily accommodate two 64-inch SxSs, but high clearance 4x4s will need to slow down to allow oncoming traffic to pass, depending on the width of the vehicle.
