Trail Overview
FS 9985 is a quick bidirectional off road trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located between East No. 22 Road and East 22 Road, this trail is easily accessible. This is a seasonal road that is not snowplowed by the Wexford County Road Commission. The trail surface consists of a mostly gravel road, but it has plenty of views. Be sure to take it all in, and TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. You'll pass through a gorgeous section of towering pine trees throughout some of this trail. This is not a difficult trail at all, but still contains a lot of fun and beauty. As always, again, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
