Trail Overview

Devils Lake Loop 2 is an ORV trail that accommodates a wide range of vehicles, from large 4x4s to dirt bikes. The trail is predominantly composed of sugar sand, interspersed with dense forests. There are also some clearings in between, which were created after recent logging in the area. Keep an eye out for white-tailed deer, as they are known to inhabit the region.

Downed Tree
We took the east entrance to Devils Lake Loop 2 and headed north; hit the loop at the 'top' and headed south. Right about where the slight angle 'bend' is near the 'end' (west) of the trail is a downed tree. Looks like some 4x4s tried to go around to the left, but it didn't pan out due to too many stumps. Quads/Side-by-sides went around to the right to get around the downed tree, then continued left the remaining distance (as there were about 2-3 more downed trees across the main path). The path around to the right is not 4x4 friendly (too narrow between standing trees). Crossing the log is not recommended unless you have a decent lift on your 4x4. We did pass 3 people coming in on the way out who had quads. We let them know about the downed trees - they were going to see what they could do to remove them.
