Trail Overview
Federal Forest Service Road (FS) 4147, also known as Deckerville Road/ Warbler Road, is a federally owned/ locally maintained, Level-2/ Level-3 forest road with a surface composition of dirt, sand, gravel, and native material. This route is currently open and in fair condition; it is not a DNR road (ORV use is subject to local government regulations). It traverses through the Huron National Forest and connects Deckerville Road (Paved) to FS 4323- Alcan, FS 4174, FS 4176, FS 4462- Hughes Lake Road, FS 4461- Vaughn Road, and Curtisville Road to Mack Lake.
Difficulty
Dirt, sand, gravel path, typically unmaintained after rain or snow that may give rise to shallow water crossings and obstacles under 12” on the trail, including small ledges.
History
Deckerville Road in Ogemaw County (48635), is characterized by rural residential homes, hunting land, and rolling hills with hardwoods and pine. The area is known for wildlife, including big bucks, bear, and birds.
