History

Between Center Plains Trail and Cemetery Crossing Trail lives what used to be the town of Pere Cheney, MI. It was a lumber town established in 1874 but was completely gone by 1917. Legend says that this now infamous ghost town was once cursed by a witch, and then the whole town was wiped out by Diphtheria and two consecutive fires. The only remaining part of this town is the cemetery, which can be found along this trail.
