Trail Overview

This is a fantastic trail that runs between Magnum Road and Yalmer Road and can be traveled in either direction. It winds through the Gwinn Forest Management Unit, offering plenty of opportunities for exploration. Several offshoot trails branch off along the route, including Old Camp Four Trail. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views overlooking marshy wetlands and dense wooded areas. Near the north end, closer to Magnum Road, a small bridge crosses Levasseur Creek, providing a great photo opportunity and a nice landmark along the route. Trail conditions can change quickly, so it’s important to pay close attention to recent rainfall. Some low-lying sections are prone to flooding and can be deceptively deep. The surface is rocky in many areas, adding to the challenge and making for a fun, technical route. If you’re looking for a trail that blends scenery, adventure, and exploration, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Such a beautiful trail. There were a few spots that were mildly flooded and puddles that looked intimidating but weren’t super deep. Highly recommend in the fall.

Trail has gotten easier. There used to be two areas that were prone to excessive flooding and would create deep water crossings. They have done trail maintenance and these areas appear not to flood anymore. Trail is still very fun and doable by any 4x4.
