Trail Overview

Arvon Road is a state owned/ locally maintained, Level-2 forest access route with a surface composition of sand, dirt, and native material (ex: leaves, pine needles, pine cones, sticks, branches). This route offers access to forested "Two-Tracks" and footpaths within the deep wilderness south of Huron Bay and near Bella Lake.

History

Mount Arvon, located in Baraga County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, is recognized as the state's highest natural point at 1,979 feet (603 m) above sea level [1, 5, 14]. As of 2026, it is considered the 38th highest state high point in the U.S. and is part of the Precambrian-era Huron Mountains.
