Trail Overview

Alcona H7 is a legal trail for vehicles up to 50 inches wide. It’s mostly sandy and surrounded by dense forest. The trail passes through part of the Huron National Forest, offering twists and turns along with stunning views of the forest. The northern end of the trail has a couple of highlights. One is a great view of the Ausable River from the bridge on Federal Route 4001. The other is the Alcona Primitive Campsites 1-3, but unfortunately, there are signs posted prohibiting ORVs.
