Trail Overview
Timber Run is a classic ATV trail featuring a variety of technical challenges, including mud, whoops, overgrown vegetation, tight tree sections, and water crossings. Running alongside South Brook, this trail provides a remote backcountry experience while remaining easily accessible. The proximity to the water offers frequent opportunities to spot local wildlife. The trail’s main feature is a washed-out log bridge that has necessitated a rollercoaster-like bypass trail, complete with deep whoops and two water crossings. Please note that the South Brook crossing consists of loose rocks in the streambed and can become difficult to navigate during periods of high water.
Difficulty
This trail begins as a wide, accessible road but narrows significantly as you progress. Full-size vehicles should not attempt this route due to the tight clearance; specifically, approaching the Gould Brook crossing, you will encounter deep whoops followed by a heavily forested section. The trail width becomes extremely restricted—barely wide enough for a SxS—before descending into the creek bed for the final crossing.
