Trail Overview

Trail Canyon East #5250 is an easy 1.2-mile ATV trail that descends from its south end at the end of Forest Service Road 50902 to a meadow near the Trail Canyon Motorized Trailhead and a few dispersed campsites. A trail sign at the entrance marks the route as limited to 50-inch vehicles. The trail follows a wide dirt path lined with scenic aspen groves, pine trees, and a mix of sun and shade. It features large waterbars, shallow ruts, and scattered small loose and embedded rocks along with loose stick debris on the surface. The trail includes frequent curves as it gradually loses over 500 feet of elevation, with a few steeper sections along the way. Riders will pass an intersection with trail #5254 before reaching the meadow at the north end. This route also serves as a Nordic trail in the winter, and is closed to motorized use from 1/1 to 4/30, and from 12/1 to 12/31.
