Trail Overview
Telichpah Creek is a really fun 5-mile-long single track that goes between Nelson Ridge Single Track and Moon Pass. From East to West it drops 2,600 feet over the 5 miles. Most of the trail is a narrow dirt trail through a dark and lush forest of old growth, with a lot of side-hilling and moderate exposure, some moisture, roots, and embedded rock. A lot of the trail is fast and flowy, with little rollers, dips, and roots to jump off of and get a flow going. It has lots of tight little curves, and shelfy sections as it goes along the Telichpah Creek, and crosses the creek a couple of times. There are a few wooden bridges over the creek, but also lots of crossings without a bridge. The creek crossings aren't very difficult or deep though. As you've dropped elevation and continue west, the trail goes out onto an open hillside that requires some side-hilling with moderate exposure. The west end ends at a small staging area with a campground and pit toilets on a dirt road that will take you to Moon Pass. This is a pretty fun route, and less rutted out than the parallel trail Big Dick, so it's more fun to take this trail in the East-to-West direction rather than Big Dick if you are making a loop in the area.
Difficulty
Much of this trail is fast and flowy, but it's still rated an intermediate difficulty due to lots of narrow sections of side-hilling with exposure, and a couple of tight switchbacks.
