Trail Overview

Succor Creek Road is a fairly easy dirt road that passes through Succor Creek State Nature Area in Eastern Oregon. The route can be run either north or south depending on where you want to start and finish. You can start just outside of the town of Homedale, Idaho, off Highway 201 or Highway 95. The road is a fairly easy dirt road, however, there are ruts and several creek crossings that can make it a little more difficult. Also, depending on the time of year, the road can become quite muddy. Succor Creek State Natural Area is located in a deep rocky canyon with spectacular views. Watch along the road; there are several caves which you can enter at your own risk. Succor Creek Park does have campsites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The area is popular with rockhounds as souvenir collecting is allowed. Tip: take a side trip to Leslie Gulch for even more spectacular views!

Overall in good shape. It's very dry and dusty. Some washboards but nothing unexpected.

Beautiful area! Easy to do and fun all around. Mud was bad on tops of hills but jeep made it when locked in climbing hills. In

I didn’t get to do all of the trail, just the area closest to the campground. There’s a gatekeeper at the campground that should deter low clearance vehicles. Theres a camp spot to the left up a very steep climb. Great if you want to overlook the campground. If you follow the Guided Trail to the right you’ll get some amazing views of the canyon. It was a steep climb with a loose surface but worth it.
