Old Baldy Connector 7438

This is a 50" trail starting off Lower Fivemile Road. It goes past a beautiful small lake, then comes to an intersection with Weston 7451 and you stay right for this trail. It's mostly two-track width and made up of many steep loose rocky climbs, and it's very dusty. It's a bumpy, rocky trail the whole time. There are some nice mellow meadows in between the hill climbs through fields of wildflowers and has really good views of the whole mountain range. It's steep but incredibly scenic. As you gain elevation a lot of the trail becomes very overgrown and it becomes hard to follow. There is a trail marker partway through the trail in a very overgrown section to help you follow it, and this also marks a reroute. The trail is rerouted through a very overgrown field of wildflowers that takes you back down to the Weston 7451 ATV trail south of the intersection with the single track. If you miss this reroute, you will end up on a very rocky trail that narrows and starts trying to go straight up the side of the mountain and peters out, and this is the wrong way.
