Trail Overview

Nicholas Ridge Trail (No. 69) is a short single-track trail in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest mostly made up of narrow winding trail with scattered loose rocks on a loose dirt surface. From west to east, the single track departs from ATV trail 802 (Hudlow Meadows) and parallels the ATV trail for the entire length of the trail, with several trail crossings. The trail is mostly narrow and winding on a ridge and has several ruts. Nicholas Ridge Trail drops 1,000 feet in elevation and rejoins ATV trail 802 on a switchback after 2.9 miles. You can follow another two-track north from this intersection to connect to another short segment of Nicholas Ridge by following the trail sign for No. 69. The second segment of the trail is a short, but steep 0.6 miles that connect down to Little North Fork Road. This segment is loose dirt covered in loose rocks with a couple of steep switchbacks.

Don’t have pictures but it’s rutted down like 1-2 feet in and uphill section with 1/3 of the trail being all tall scattered roots wouldn’t call it a 4/10 but more like a 6/10 just due to the 1/3 of it being up hill slope with some tall roots, in summary it’s over tinned due to the trail being a foot or two deep that default and becuase of that a lot of big tall roots are showing
