Line Canyon

Line Canyon (Trail #7802) is a thrilling, technical trail designed specifically for riders of four-wheel-drive ATVs, dirt bikes, and narrow SxSs under 50 inches wide looking to challenge themselves with steep climbs and rewards of sweeping panoramic views. Carving through the rugged Sublett Range within the Sawtooth National Forest, this 3.5-mile point-to-point route offers an exciting, fast-paced ride through dense forests up to a mountain summit. The southern portion of the trail features a sustained, demanding hill climb or descent, depending on the direction of travel, that tests traction and throttle control. Along the climb, riders will conquer over 1,000 feet of elevation gain, topping out at an altitude of 7,001 feet where expansive vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges unfold. With a technical rating of 5, the terrain demands careful tire placement due to deep erosion ruts that run throughout the trail and can easily pull a machine offline. Navigating this dirt track requires managing uneven surfaces, loose rocks, sand, and potential water crossings up to 18 inches deep alongside mud holes. There are several short, steep grades scattered along the path, including a particularly tricky off-camber section and potential obstacles up to 2 feet, such as ledges. This trail connects Line Canyon on the south to Mill Canyon on the north, serving as a key route for exploring the remote Sublett area. Best ridden from late spring through fall when snow has cleared, it provides an exceptional backcountry experience for offroaders seeking a true mountain adventure.
