Trail Overview

Hot Shot is a very windy and twisty single track with some fun rock ledges. It's mostly a very narrow trail through sage brush rolling hills, with a couple sections of slab rock boulders and moderate obstacles. The really tight turns are a good test of balance, and are even more difficult when there are rock boulders leading into the tight turns. One of the rock sections takes you out on the rim of a hillside. Right as you round a corner, there are a bunch of rock boulders that you have to go down, which is unique because the rocks are unexpected in the middle of the sage brush valley. Most of the obstacles are like ramps and not too difficult, but definitely add a challenge. This trail definitely gets some use from the cows in the area, and dodging their fresh cow patties is an extra challenge. At the south end of the trail you can connect to either Snakeskin or Upper Dry Gulch. It ends in a pasture with a creek.
