Trail Overview
Green Basin #5229 is an easy ATV trail that begins near dispersed campsites by the Green Basin Motorized Trailhead, with convenient access from Slug Creek Road. This area is commonly used as a staging point for rides in the area. The route starts wide and grassy, passing water well infrastructure, including visible pipes sticking out of the ground, then continues through a gate with a 50-inch pinch point. From there, it follows a gradual, straight path along a wide shelf road with shallow ruts and loose rock scattered throughout. Near the end, a short hill climb introduces slightly looser terrain, on a semi-steep slope, but it remains easy to navigate as it's still wide and mostly smooth. The trail dead ends at another well pipe and must be ridden as an out-and-back.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail due to its wide layout, mellow grades, and minimal rock or rutting. The brief hill climb adds mild variety without increasing overall difficulty.
