Trail Overview

Germania Creek (FS 7111) is a 10.8-mile trail in the Sawtooth National Forest, about an hour north of Ketchum, Idaho. It begins at the Germania Creek Trailhead off FS 70120 and runs southwest to FS 70197. The route is a steady climb from roughly 6,400 to 7,800 feet. The tread is mostly hard-packed dirt, but the trail is narrow and wooded with a mix of technical features. Riders encounter a tricky rock wall on a very tight sidehill with slippery roots and no bypass, a fast-flowing stream crossing around two feet deep, small gravel stretches, and several short rock gardens. The trail stays close to Germania Creek for much of its length, weaving through dense forest with intermittent exposure and loose rock.
