There is a tunnel that cuts through a mountain on this route and deer, elk, bear, and grouse are prevalent. There is no cell phone service or bathrooms on this route. There are occasional pullouts where you can camp along the roadway. For current conditions call the St. Joe Ranger District at 208-245-2531.
