Trail Overview

Excavation Gulch is a single-track spur off of Beason Meadows that heads south to an ATV trail. It starts as a narrow and shelfy trail along the side of a hill in the forest of white pines, then pops out into a burn area with clear-cut logs and burn piles. It goes along a spine with the burn area on both sides of the trail, and lots of wooden water bars crossing the trail to divert water. The trail widens when you are out of the trees, and then narrows again as it goes back into the trees before ending on the ATV trail. The trail has no real obstacles, but is slightly more difficult in the beginning due to the narrow sections of trail.
