Trail Overview

This trail is very popular in the MTB community and is a very beginner-friendly single track for dirtbikers. Starting from Dry Creek, the trail is very easy and has no obstacles. Mostly hard-packed dirt with a few wooden water crossing platforms. The entire area was burned in the 2024 Wapiti Fire, so burn area hazards exist, like fallen trees and low branches. You will pass a small pond/lake with a relatively wide sidehill. Lots of flow and easy riding. Once you reach the turn for Upper Elk Creek, you will climb up to the top to meet with the Elk Mountain Trail. There are a few obstacles as shown in the photos, but there is no exposure, and the trail is wide, so you can take your time. Lots of embedded rock and some tree roots, nothing larger than a basketball, and no drops or ledges. Perfect ride to get started on singletrack and lots of camping in the area!
