Trail Overview
This beautiful out-and-back trail starts in the valley with a water crossing. Then it heads across the valley and up into one of the canyons. The mountain and valley views in this area are unbeatable. Antelope can be spotted running in the valley, and birds dart in and out of the scrub brush. Besides the water crossing, the trail is smooth gravel the whole way. Near the end, the trail narrows with nowhere to allow oncoming to pass. There is a network of OHV trails up in these mountains. The main staging area for the OHV network above is at the end of the trail. There's a nice pit toilet, and continuing further past this point provides some excellent dispersed camping spots nestled into the trees. Even in early July, some of these trails may be impassable due to snowpack and debris. There is one bar of Verizon LTE in the open valley below. No cell service back in the mountains at the end of the trail.
