Trail Overview
The Divide Trail #106 trail is open to dirt bikes yearlong, however, it is best-ridden from June through September. This single-track trail starts behind (west of) the Lost Trail Ski Area and is accessed from Forest Service roads that go through the ski area. The trail is approximately 11 miles and will take you to Highway 93 near the Twin Creek Campground about 2 miles north of Gibbonsville, Idaho. Taking the Divide Trail to the Twin Creek Ridge Trail is the shortest option. The trail continues south quite a way if the Twin Creek Ridge Trail turn is not taken 5 miles in. The trail surface ranges from packed dirt, loose sand, rocks, mud, and creek crossings. Overall if riding this trail from Lost Trail to Twin Creek Campground, a significant portion of the trail is downhill--especially the second half of the trail that follows the ridge. There are a couple of short switchback climbs that can seem a little bit steep. There is one section about 3 miles into the ride that might be a little bit tricky for some riders. It is a small creek crossing with an immediate switchback hill climb that will require a little momentum going into it and/or good clutching skills. Other than that section, this trail is not too difficult. However, this trail is not recommended for beginner riders. The trail was ridden in July 2023 and was well maintained/cleared of tree fall.
