Trail Overview

Baby Grand Ridge (FS 1433) is a 7.1-mile point-to-point trail connecting North Fork Palouse River Road (FS 767) and Palouse Divide Road (FS 377). Starting from the east via Palouse Divide, the trail is tight, with fallen trees jutting into the road. There are a few sections of tight brush where full-size rigs will get pinstripes. Baby Grand Ridge gradually opens into a wide gravel road, descending to the North Fork Palouse River Road. Baby Grand Ridge is open year-round to vehicles. Difficulty

Baby Grand Ridge is a mostly maintained single-lane gravel road. It is unchallenging in the spring, summer, and fall. Like most trails in the area, Baby Grand Ridge can get decent snowpack, making the difficulty unpredictable in the winter. The upper portion of the trail is slightly more rutted, brushy, and less maintained than the lower portion. As with any trip into the Idaho Wilderness, I highly recommend bringing a saw.
