Trail Overview

Road 7 is a short 1.1-mile sandy access road in Point Washington State Forest that takes about 15 minutes one way and dead-ends at the Eastern Lake Campground. The road is mostly single-lane with occasional pull-offs for passing and can become soft in dry conditions, though it is generally easy and manageable for most vehicles. It provides access to Eastern Lake Campground 2 (walk-in only) and Eastern Lake Campground 1, which is gated—if unlocked, you may open and close it to enter with a vehicle. All campsites require a reservation, dispersed camping is not permitted, and daily use or campground passes must be obtained through FloridaStateForests.ReserveAmerica.com. Wildlife is active in the area, including bears, so secure food properly and stay alert near the campground.
