Trail Overview

Posey Branch, also known as Apalachicola National Forest Road 348-A, is a loop trail that starts and ends at Little Hammock. It takes you through the north-east part of the Apalachicola National Forest and gives you access to several OHV trails surrounding the Bradwell Bay Wilderness and a fishing pond. The road conditions are a mixture of packed sand, loose sand, and some holes that can turn into mud holes after rainy days. You'll find several Mud Holes and Water crossings that are up to 2 feet deep and several hundred feet long. The road is not always wide enough for two vehicles to pass. 4WD and high clearance are highly recommended. All vehicles must be street legal. The Apalachicola National Forest is located in the eastern part of Florida's panhandle. It's home to some of the most unique animal and plant species in the world. Here, visitors can enjoy safe, family-friendly activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, and trail-riding while surrounded by tranquil, diverse ecosystems.
