Trail Overview

This is a straightforward track that cuts through a longleaf pine forest. The trail is wide enough that you're not brushing the treeline the whole time, and visibility ahead is solid. The trail surface is primarily sand with patches of packed dirt mixed in, and you'll notice in some areas that the sides are slightly bermed from years of water runoff cutting into the shoulders. The trail starts open and stays that way. No tight squeezes, no surprise elevation changes. You will hit one mud hole - it's not deep or particularly wide. Depending on recent rain, it can have a little punch to it, but nothing that'll swallow a bumper. There's also a small creek crossing that's dried up most of the year; when it's wet, it's still a non-issue, just a low soft spot to roll through. Pine cones litter the surface throughout, and some of the trees show old burn scarring from prescribed burns, so the understory stays pretty open. Overcast days make this trail feel like pure backcountry. Good trail for shaking down a new build or getting someone their first real off-road miles.

Difficulty

Stock 4x4 territory. You don't need a lift, lockers, or any kind of armor to run this. The sand is well-packed and does not sink. The one mud hole is the only real decision point on the trail - it's manageable in a capable stock vehicle, but you'll want to have 4WD engaged before you roll into it. Everything else is just trail driving: ruts, soft shoulders, and the occasional dip. A bone-stock 4Runner, Tacoma, F-150, or similar will handle this without issue.
