Trail Overview
This is a single-track, point-to-point trail restricted to dirt bikes only that cuts over the ridge running next to the Sidewinder Trail. From the east side, this trail begins off the Los Pinos Mountain Loop road next to the start of Sidewinder. From there, it will go both down and up over a series of short, steep hills with large embedded rocks or composed of a large rock slab. Near the halfway point, the trail will temporarily merge with Sidewinder before veering off into a tight, narrow section through the trees. This last section has a hairpin turn around a big rock slab, bypass available, and some deeper ruts and scattered smaller rocks on the trail before dumping out onto Corral - Trail 2. A Green Sticker permit is required on OHVs as well as a Daily Use Fee payable at the Four Corners Trailhead kiosk. Tread Lightly and Pack-It-Out.
Difficulty
Trail surface is primarily packed dirt with small embedded and loose rocks. There are several short stretches that cross over large rock slabs and rock ledges and climb/descend over or in between larger rocks/boulders. The path will become tight as it passes through heavy vegetation, so expect branches at helmet level.
