Trail Overview

This picturesque trail brings one within three-quarters of a mile from Parker Lake, an alternate to the Parker Lake Trailhead route. It is, however, much more challenging. Various sections are very rocky. There are a few sections with off-camber and deep ruts. A few water crossings and mudbogs can swallow unsuspecting adventurers. The route ends at an aspen grove. There are many beautiful views of the Eastern Sierras and Mono Lake.

Difficulty

The beginning of the trail is very rocky. It mellows out in the middle section before coming to a few off-camber sandy areas, then a very wet area. Mugbogs/holes have swallowed a few past adventurers. A couple water crossings and puddles from snow runoff await.

Majority of the trail was a 2 with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and Aspens changing colors. The first part of the trail has a few spots that reach a 5, then right after the little wTer crossing. Everything else is very easy. A stock 4Runner was at the end of the trail.

Great trail. Winds into and out of a couple of Aspen Groves. There was one water crossing. Everything else was dry. Most of the trail is a 2, but there are two spots, one at the beginning and one right after the water crossing that make it a 4-5 where there are rocks and deep ruts. Total time from bottom of trail to top was about 20 min.
