Mecca Orocopia Jeep Trail

well, it's kinda closed. nearest to Box Canyon Road, there is a cell tower on the trail. the gate is closed... but, there's a steep hill to the side that many have obviously used to bypass the gate. That hill requires 4x4 and high clearance. The rest of the trail is good with som3 downhills on loose rock. It's very easy to slide, so take those nice and slow. Otherwise it is a great trail, very very scenic.

Good day on the trail, lots of sxs traffic overnight. Trail had a lot of bumpy sections from the sxs’s. Made for a really rough ride even with aftermarket suspension.

Completed the route with Subaru Forester Wilderness + skid plates. The beginning part is very loose and washboardy. Middle section has some sketchy parts with big inclines and two bad declines. I was able to get through them with a spotter and picking a good line.

Beginning of the trail was a mix of sand/dirt/rocks. A few miles down it gets narrower and a bit technical. Some levels require your vehicle height to clear the hills and washes, clearance is a must. Bumpy ride and towards the end there’s a bit of a challenging rock hill that you must route carefully. As mentioned, this is a great testing trail for beginners, including myself, it was great challenging the limits of my stock Pilot TrailSport. Love how it handled it and looking forward to even more trails with some upgrades to my Pilot that I took note I needed, even for trails like this. Confidence in your rig is a must.

Over all good views. Fun easy trail. Towards the end to go back to salton sea, recent rain did mess with road a bit, bumpier ride.
