Trail Overview

Hot Creek Hatchery Road is a well-graded road that connects Highway 395 to Owens River Road and Whitmore Tubs Road. It starts off a paved road that takes you to the Mammoth-Yosemite Airport. Then it turns into a dirt/sandy trail. Hot Creek Geological Site is located on this road and is a very popular fishing and hiking area.

There are a few spots with snow still on it. One section with really deep ruts up to 18 in of snow. There was a Subaru stuck.
