Trail Overview

This is a level 2-rated full-width road back to Highway 243. This is the fastest and safest way back up to Highway 243. The route through Bee Canyon is currently closed. 2 areas had a boulder roll off the hill into the road. Even an H1 Hummer can make it around both of them, so they won't stop you short, but you may need a spotter to avoid some damage navigating.

Most of the trail is fine, turned around on this supe washed out section didn’t want to risk it super deep ruts with uneven ground firmness wise it was 50/50 if it would hold

Very beautiful trail, gets somewhat ruff in some places. I wouldn’t say it’s a 2, personally I’d say it’s about a 4. Some steep sections with rocks to maneuver, but typically short, and doable if you have good clearance and 4 wheel drive.

Started South from Bee Canyon Road and drove both East Indian Canyon and Vista Grande. East Indian was lumpy and washed out, but very mild. Vista Grande was a powdery dirt road with some cool views. Had a great time.

It took us 2 hrs to go 8 miles. The Bronco did it, but some very rutted areas that had me worried about getting stuck. It said it was a 2 rating.

We started on 243 and rode it down Bee Canyon to the 74. There was a little snow at the top and a lot of deterioration from the rains a couple weeks ago making it a bit slow in some parts. We found some guys with their Jeep stuck in a runoff ditch and we were able to tow them out. Brush is pretty thick and tight in some places so expect some scratches if that bothers ya. It was a good day!

Starting from the Hemet side, begins easy with some casual trail cruising. After about halfway through, some challenging climbs and gnarly rain ruts. Fun trail. Camped near the end before getting back onto the main highway to Idyllwild.

pretty cool trail, unfortunately some parts are trashy somehow. Pretty tame, not a knock your socks off trail. You're not missing out on much

Came up this trail from Bee Canyon. The trail has many great views of the valley below. I didn’t need to use 4WD but it is pretty rough and rutted in a few places where 4WD may need to be used. I believe this is a great trail for beginners or anyone who wants to get their vehicle off road. There is some spots where you can get some pin stripping for larger vehicles like mine. I did this as part of a loop. When I reached the road at the top (243) I traveled east to Indian Mountain Trail (4S21), took that south to San Jacinto Ridge Trail (FS 5S09). At this point you can head west over to Bee Canyon and back out to the road, or like I did was head east to the end of the trail, onto Red Hill trail down to Idylwild Control (5S06). This goes out to hwy 74 to complete the loop. Overall I think it’s close to 34 miles off-road and took 4 hrs to complete.

Went on a Friday. Going from highway 74 to highway 243 uphill. Quiet day with only 5 other vehicles going up too. Easy trail, sunny, dusty. Minor ruts to avoid but nothing hyper technical. The 4S05 which then takes you to 243 is a bit more technical. It was fine on dry day. Not sure I’d want to do it on a wet day. Trail was single track, no reverse traffic and was a great day out for a 4 Runner and New Defender.

Great trail! Super nice in the fall. Leaves are changing at higher altitudes. Lots of big wide rain ruts to flex your suspension. First time on this trail, definitely worth a repeat!!!

Easy trail but slow going. There was some big ruts so you gotta navigate. I misjudged it thinking it was a green and a 2 rating I believe, so I thought you could go fast on it. Took us an hour and a half to get to the level 7 Indian mountain trail and by 6:50p- 7p it was pitch black out
