Trail Overview

This twelve-mile sandy graded road travels from north to south from Hwy 395, near Bridgeport, down to the Virginia Lakes Road. It is an easy trail that offers beautiful views of the Eastern Sierras to the West and Bodie Mountain and Mount Biedeman to the East. It's a great easy day.

Difficulty

This graded road is relatively easy. It does travel through some forests and valleys but part of the trail does run along a cliff, so caution should be taken. There are a couple of bumps that cut across the road as well.

Good fall colors but at this elevation it is near the end of the fall color season.

Most of the trail was dry and dusty, no 4wd needed. Only a couple rocky sections required high clearance or 4wd.
