Trail Overview
This trail starts on Painted Gorge Road and follows a small power line for reference, making navigation straightforward. The first half mile is adjacent to private land, but this is the access road to the public land that lies beyond, so stay on the designated route. The surface is mostly gravel and sand throughout. The first mile or so is fairly barren with little vegetation except a few desert bushes. You can see the Coyote Mountains and the Painted Gorge area in the distance, providing scenic views. Then you start seeing the sand hills as the terrain changes. Be cautious when next to mud walls as they can collapse without warning. You'll encounter some small ruts scattered along the way. The trail ends at BLM 137.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with straightforward navigation on mostly gravel and sand surface. Some small ruts are minor obstacles that don't require advanced skills. The power line provides excellent navigation reference throughout. The main considerations are staying on the access road through the private land section and being aware of collapsing mud walls in certain areas.
