Buck Lake

The lower part of the trail from the Mckinney Rubicon to the lake is only a 5-difficulty rating however if you continue to follow the trail above the lake the trail becomes a 7-difficulty rating. The lake itself is beautiful and had quite a few camping spots. If you have a capable rig and can climb the trail to the top you will drive threw some great wildflower spots and be able to take in some awesome views of Lake Tahoe and Desolation Wilderness. A detour at the top of the trail to Ellis Lake and or Ellis Peak makes for a short but worthwhile place to check out.
