Trail Overview

This loose sand trail follows the aqueduct infrastructure. Best to travel on the sand side of the route. Beautiful views showcase the Eastern Sierras, including the Scodie Mountains, with mountains to the east and south completing the panorama. Serving as a good way to travel north and south without hitting pavement and airing up, this keeps you in the dirt continuously. Desert brush surrounds the trail while running parallel to Highway 14. The trail is fairly smooth overall, but humps interrupt periodically, with aqueduct structures requiring caution to avoid contact or crossing violations.

Loose sand throughout needs momentum but rates among the easiest routes, perfect for maintaining dirt travel without technical challenges. Some humps create minor interruptions, so be cautious of near aqueduct structures. The fairly smooth nature makes this accessible for most vehicles wanting to parallel Highway 14 off pavement. Airing down helps with loose sand traction. Main considerations are staying on the sand side as directed and being cautious around the aqueduct infrastructure.
