Trail Overview

This short 1.9-mile out-and-back trail takes you out to an old fire watch outpost. The structure has been removed and only the footings are left. The view from the point is breathtaking as you can see several different canyons including Big Valley, Granite, and New York. All the peaks around the area are also visible from this point including Snow Mountain, Sunflower Hill, and Little Bald Mountain. This is a great place to stop for lunch while exploring the area.

Difficulty

This is a dirt road not maintained after rain or snow, with small obstacles under 12" on the trail. The road is mostly one vehicle wide.

Trails was wide open and really nice. If you enter on the north side, you will encounter a few snowdrifts but it was light and easy enough to drive over. The lookout is amazing and absolutely worth the drive.
