Trail Overview

This road is a rocky gravel road with moderate washboard, some ruts, and rock outcrops that require high-clearance. It leads past the well-preserved ruins of the historic Eureka Mine just off the road at 1.7 miles. The final ascent is steep and rocky, leading to spectacular views of Death Valley and the surrounding area. Can be subject to snow and mud. Opportunities to scramble around the rocky summit are available. The road ends at an elevation of 6,433', and Badwater, at 282' below sea level, is visible.
