Trail Overview
This is one of the longer and more difficult single tracks in the Miami OHV area. It starts with a small rock feature on the south end, where you have to go up a small ramped rock ledge in order to enter the trail. It continues on a shelfy hillside, weaving around the hill, over a couple of bridges, and through a couple of troughed and rutted sections. The trail is very dry and dusty, going through a dry low-elevation forest of manzanitas and oaks. The trail curves through the trees, over lots of root bands, across a couple of small bridges, and up and down some easy climbs and descents. The majority of the trail is moderately easy, but there was one giant log crossing (as of September 2025) that hadn’t been cut, which will make this trail more difficult for the average rider. It’s a 2-foot-wide log that is slightly elevated above the trail, which will require some advanced skills or teamwork to get over. There’s always potential for new log hazards in the area. There are some really deep ruts following the log crossing that also make the trail more difficult, as you have to stay on the high points to avoid getting sucked into the ruts. This trail is open to motorized use 6/1 – 11/15.
Difficulty
This is a moderate trail due to the one giant log crossing, plus a couple of deep ruts. The majority of the trail is easy, though. This is considered "Moderate" by the Forest Service.
