Trail Overview

The northern end of this trail is lined with cinderblocks to prevent erosion. It goes into the scenic forest of oaks and cedars and pines. The trail has been rerouted around a couple big downed logs right away on a steep slope. It weaves between a lot of other cut logs, and climbs up a steep ascent with a bit of loose rock. It weaves between tight sections of manzanita shrubs with a bit of embedded flat rock surfaces in the trail. You gets some nice views from the hilltop before it descends again, over more embedded rock surfaces and loose rock that makes it a bit more technical. The south end pops out at FS 3N01, a paved road only open to street-legal vehicles.

Difficulty

This is a moderate rating due to a few sections with more prominent loose rock, a couple steeper hills and descents, and the potential for big log hazards. There aren’t any major rock ledges though.
